RHA debuted its first TrueConnect earbuds in 2018 that pretty much looked like the Airpods and offered an alternative to Apple’s products. Now, the company has a much-refined version called RHA TrueConnect 2. The design is mostly the same as the soft-touch matte finish returning on the familiar stem design factor. The most prominent thing about this true wireless earbuds is its long battery life.
Here’s what’s been improved for RHA’s latest truly wireless headphones: notably better battery life (9 hours from the headphones and an added 35 from the charging case), a “refined” sound impression, IP55 dust/sweat/splash-proof rating, and touch controls.

RHA also brought back its flip charging case that rotates to open. The RHA TrueConnect 2 is little modest when it comes to features – there’s Siri/Google Assistant/ Bixby support but that’s about it. Unluckily, there’s no active noise cancellation option nor an app to modify the listening taste. The good part is that the headphones just work and don’t require dabbling with it to sound great out of the box, unlike the Jabra Elite 75t.
Talking about the controls, users will have to learn what each earbud does as you can’t access all the controls with just one bud. The left button controls play/pause, track select, voice assistant, and pairing while the right button controls play/pause, volume up/down, voice assistant, and pairing. This suggests you can use either bud in single-bud mode, which isn’t a preferred choice with true wireless headphones.
One bright feature we want to share is its capability of multipoint pairing, which enables headphones to pair with two devices simultaneously. This implies you’ll have to turn off Bluetooth on one device, activate pairing mode with a 5-second press, and then re-enable Bluetooth on your original device. Doing this every time you need to switch between your phone and laptop is annoying. In 2020, multipoint pairing should be necessary.
The truly wireless headphone competition was still in its start and there were a lot of standard products on the market. But, the RHA True Connect has surprised us with the best build quality we encountered to date and great sound quality. RHA TrueConnect 2 is available on the official website at the price of $150 (£130, €160).
