In order to compete with the voice assistant feature of Google an Amazon, Samsung has launches its own voice assistant service. Samsung has opened a new app store for Bixby so Galaxy users can discover new shortcuts they can use with the assistant. It is called Bixby marketplace, users can browse for “Bixby capsules.” Well, these tools are similar to Amazon’s Alexa skills that allows the user easily access certain functionalities of an app with a voice command.
Samsung has launched this service in United Sates and in South Korea. But there is o information about when it’s going to launch this service in other parts of world.

Bixby already offers quick commands that integrate with third-party apps, but the marketplace makes it easier to browse through different categories of apps, like games, productivity, travel, and music. Users can also customize their capsule to a specific need. For example, if user prefers to use Uber or Lyft, user can select the transportation capsule to always request Uber rides when you ask Bixby for a car to the airport. Popular third-party apps include Spotify, Yelp, YouTube, NPR, and Google Maps.
According to Samsung, the new Bixby Marketplace features high profile portals for Google Maps, Spotify, iHeartRadio, NPR and Yelp, among others. In the press note Samsung said, “The Bixby Marketplace takes these customized experiences to the next level by offering easy access to a wide range of capsules that make Bixby more powerful, making it easier for users to tailor Bixby to suit their needs.
On the other hand, Users will be able to search the portal for so-called ‘capsules’ as well. They are organized by categories such as productivity, finance, sports and shopping. So, once users have found the capsule of their choosing, they’ll be able to install them with a single tap. The company is also allowing users to set ‘preferred capsules’ for those occasions where more than one app will get the job done.
