It has been very exciting news for mobile phone gamers, as Qualcomm’s newest mobile processor has been built for speed. Qualcomm has recently launched its most powerful mobile processor Snapdragon 855 Plus and Asus ROG phone 2 will have this processor. More relevant to the ROG Phone II, the Adreno 640 GPU in the Snapdragon 855 Plus has also been clocked higher. And now it promises an improvement of 15% compared to the standard Snapdragon 855.
The gamers are over delight with it, as 5G will also enable them to play the game in a fastest way. And Asus ROG phone 2 will be the first phone to be equipped with this processor.
Snapdragon 855 Plus
Recently, Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 855 Plus, a souped-up version of its high-end chip. This chip wills powers many of the latest and greatest Android smartphones on the market. Besides that, the Plus features 15% faster graphics and a CPU clock speed of up to 2.96GHz. The regular Snapdragon 855 maxes out at 2.84GHz.
On the other hand, he Snapdragon 855 Plus will also include improvements for AI, XR, and 5G. The word from Qualcomm is that the 855 Plus will be able to offer “superior coverage and all-day battery life in premium 5G devices.”
The new chip is aimed at gaming phones and other devices that will tap into 5G, the new cellular standard that promises download speeds in the multi-gigabits; artificial intelligence; and augmented and virtual reality. Kedar Kondap, Qualcomm vice president of product management has released a press statement. It says, “Snapdragon 855 Plus will raise the bar for elite gamers with the increase in CPU and GPU performance.”
Other than this, The Snapdragon 855 Plus also will need to be paired with the X50 modem to tap into the new 5G networks. Like the regular Snapdragon 855, it contains the X24 LTE 4G modem.
