Microsoft comes with the HoloLens 2 Development Edition, it is doing everything it can to get Devs onboard its new mixed reality headset. Not only that, it’ll come with free three-month trials of Unity Pro and the Unity PiXYZ plugin for CAD data. Additionally, it’ll include Azure credits, giving developers an easy way to put their creations online.

And best of all, HoloLens 2 Development Edition will come in a bit cheaper. Development Edition can be purchased it for $99 a month, instead of $125 monthly. It’s still $3,500 if you want to buy it outright, though.

The company first unveiled the second edition of its mixed reality headset at this year’s Mobile World Congress. Though the device is not available yet in the market or for developers as well. As of now, HoloLens 2 will launch later this year with the Development Edition arriving alongside the standard version of the headset.

Besides these details, those who wanted to the HoloLens 2 Development Edition will first have to join the Microsoft Mixed Reality Developer Program. It can be done by signing up on its site. However, those who have already pre-ordered the standard edition will be able to change their order later this year.

According to the Microsoft, “Pairing HoloLens 2 with Unity’s real-time 3D platform enables industrial businesses to create immersive, interactive experiences that accelerate business and reduce costs. The addition of Unity Pro and the PiXYZ Plugin makes it easy to import 3D design data in minutes rather than hours.”

The company further said that the addition of Unity Pro and PiXYZ Plugin to HoloLens 2 Development Edition. It gives businesses the instant ability to create real-time 2D, 3D, VR, and AR interactive experiences. Besides that the HoloLens 2 will allow the importing and preparation of design data to create real-time experiences as well.
