In order to avoid such expensive activity, a US firm EyeQue has its VisionCheck for automatic eye test. Now forget about going to doctor, make your eyeglass prescription at home.
EyeQue VisionCheck is a refracto-meter that measures your refractive error, i.e. your nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. The tests show results in the same format as your prescription, allowing you to order glasses online.
As the name itself suggests about the instrument, it works with a mobile app, the Bluetooth-powered portable device can conduct vision tests at home. And it can accurately measure nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.
Well after testing, the device gives you what it calls your personal “EyeGlass Numbers.” After multiple experiments, the numbers work similar to an eyeglass prescription. But you do not require a doctor’s prescription. On the other hand; the user can then take the number to specific retailers that will give EyeGlass numbers.
VisionCheck attaches to your smartphone to perform its test. Each test takes about 5 minutes. Because your vision fluctuates throughout the day, it is recommended you take at least three readings at different times in the day. This processor takes no longer that 30 minutes in total, plus you get refraction results immediately.
Coming to the device, the optical scope have three optical lenses which are automatically rotated by a precision motor. So, the lenses can capture each eye’s meridian, the line running across the visual field from top to bottom or left to right. There is also a rechargeable battery inside the scope, a Bluetooth control interface, and a touch mechanism. The scope pairs with the smartphone app which will measure pupillary distance. And by measuring that distance, it optical device will provide you the eyeglass number.
