Great news for music lovers, a new app called Playlist has been launched. This music app is there to make music a more social experience than it was earlier. Unlike the other music app by others, In Playlist, you can find others who share your musical tastes and join group chats where you listen to playlists together in real time. It means you can work together and interact with other on Playlists, too. But this app till this time is only available for the iPhone’s users.
According to the creators, the idea behind is to make such thing which can unite music and messaging by synchronizing streams. So, that the people could listen to songs together at the same time and chat while they are doing it.
The Playlist
At the launching, the app has a directory of more than 45 million songs with a music license for the U.S. It plans to do so through advertising. The fundamental idea is to have real-time music listening and chat, which seems very energetic. On the other hand, the app sometimes over-complicates things, for instance, importing a playlist from another music app involves a lengthy and complicated procedure. It includes switching over to that app, finding the playlist and copying its sharing URL, then switching back to Playlist to paste it in a pop-up box. After that it then offers a way for you to add your own photo to the playlist.
The app also has a strange choice is that it’s hard to figure out how to quit a group chat, after you have joined. You can mute the playlist that’s streaming or you can minimize the player, but the option to “leave” lets you to another menu, making it difficult to find. While the player interfaces also offer many features. It includes heart, a plus (+), a share button, a mute button and a skip button all on the bottom row.
Talking about the social aspects of the app, it involves a following/follower model, and presents playlists from the people you follow in your home feed, just like a music-focused version of Instagram. The Playlist also separate ‘Discover’ section lets you find more people to follow or join in other popular listening and chat sessions.
