There is lot more room for the improvement in the smart speakers. How often have user had to shout a command over your music, or had to tolerate ordinary sound for the ease of using your voice? But Qualcomm considers that it can do better. Now Qualcomm’s new chips powers smarter AI-connected speakers. The QSC400 system-on-chip is meant to deliver a quicker and more intelligent response for voice assistants. This new chip system even works better and efficiently even when it’s very noisy.

Qualcomm is approaching out new chips that will be using AI, more powerful processing and DSP in an attempt to push voice command capabilities.

Qualcomm’s New Chips

Qualcomm’s new chips makes conversational human-to-machine voice interaction better and improved with its new QCS400 smart speaker chip series. On the other hand Qualcomm’s new quads core neural processing engine and others likely to follow. These new smarter chips are designed to tackle the biggest smart speaker voice-command problems. Not only has that it even added some capabilities for which users have been wishing.

The idea behind the chips and there are four to begin with is to give more consistent, better-sounding, and potentially more portable experiences for voice-activated speakers. Nowadays, most speakers are plugged into walls all the time, or have to be particularly designed to commune effortlessly in multiple rooms, or have trouble responding to a question in a noisy environment.

Therefore, the QSC400 system-on-chip is destined to deliver a quicker and more intelligent response for voice assistants, even when it’s very noisy. They can stay in standby for as much as 25 times longer, handle more on-device AI and more effectively recognize your voice from a distance.

The design also handles 32-channel Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio, not to mention wireless connectivity like Bluetooth, WiFi and the Zigbee smart home standard.  So, it can also power an audio-equipped router, too, along with Qualcomm’s Hexagon DSP to power AI improvements. Other features include an Adreno GPU, display support, audio components, and a host of security features. The company also promises that speakers powered by the QCS400 SoCs will be able to talk to their devices even when disconnected from the internet.
