A race to the mirrorless, smallest and lightest professional cameras is on, now Canon has jumped in to race as well. Canon EOS Rebel SL3 is the smallest and lightest EOS DSLR hit the market. Earlier mirrorless cameras are coming, but Canon has done it with DSLR. It just launched the 24.1-megapixel APS-C sensor EOS Rebel SL3. It is the smallest and lightest model in its EOS lineup at just 15.84 ounces, or 449 grams.

Canon comes with the ides of upgrading its 2017’s Rebel SL2 entry-level DSLR. The megapixel feature remains the same but the Rebel SL3 has enhanced image processor, improving battery life and adding 4K video recording.

Now the specifications, which give the camera an extra edge, it is similar to Canon’s mirrorless EOS M50. Well the Canon EOS Rebel SL3 is equipped with the DIGIC 8 processor, 3.0 inch flip-around touch-screen. It helps for vlogging and selfies and 4K video. But significantly, it is first EOS model to have Dual Pixel autofocus with eye detection in live view shooting mode.

On the other hand, Canon already introduced variety of DSLRs, some quite large and expensive. The new EOS Rebel SL3 is not like others, it is meant for the newcomer photographers who are joining the profession. And for those who are looking for the DSLR with features and lesser price.  The new model brings a number of notable features with it, including the ability to continuously shoot up to 5 frames-per-second. On the other hand, The EOS Rebel SL3 will come later this month in black or white. The expected body-only price will be US$599.99, or $749.99 with an EF-S 18-55 F4-5.6 IS STM lens.

Furthermore, the EOS Rebel SL3 is the first in the overall EOS lineup to offer Dual Pixel CMOS AF with Eye Detection AF in Live View. The camera is equipped with EOS SLR to add the Smooth Skin setting and Creative Assist. It there for a trouble-free checking and changing shooting conditions in the Live View shooting mode. Besides that there are new features assistant added, for the people who are new to handle the camera with tips and guidance.
