It’s time to get live, as DJI takes on GoPro with the Osmo Action camera. It’s says that one of the finest drone makers is back with fight to GoPro. DJI is stomping right back with a rugged camera of its own, the Osmo Action. It happened, when GoPro comes up with its own drone for shooting Karma. So, DJI decided to hit back with its own capturing camera for drones.
Well this Osmo Action camera is treated as a direct competitor to GoPro’s Hero 7 Black. But DJI has some new tricks under its belt.
DJI Osmo Action Camera
The Osmo Action, which is designed to compete with GoPro’s Hero line, features a 1/2.3-inch sensor capable of capturing 12-megapixel photos, 4K and 4K HDR video. It also comes with electronic image stabilization (EIS), which is going to come in handy during your adventures.
Talking about the video aspects, it will allow having 720p and 1080p at your disposal. But, if you are willing to have more resolution, it will also shoot in 4K manner as well. That’s why DJI says it has key to have EIS in the Osmo Action. So, user can record 4K at 60 frames per second (100Mbps) with EIS, while 4K HDR video will be limited to 30 frames per second.
Of particular note is the second front-facing screen, making it much easier to frame shots of yourself. There are also lens covers as well; it also helps the user to capture the photos with 12MP, F2.8 aperture. Besides that, it has more than an hour battery for shooting the pictures or videos.
On the screen specs, there’s a 2.25-inch touchscreen on the back and a 1.4-inch on the front. While, the latter of which has 800nits of brightness that will help it be useful in direct sunlight. Besides that, since this is a rugged camera after all, DJI made it dustproof, shockproof up to 5ft and waterproof down to 36ft.
