It seems that, Google is very much serious about its video calling service Google Dou. Goggle is regularly updating and making it more attractive for the users. Now, Google Duo, Android’s built-in video chat app, is getting support for eight-person video calls. On the other hand FaceTime allows 32, four for WhatsApp, 50 for Skype, and 50 for Facebook. So, it is trying to make it market.
Its group calling functionality is exclusive to mobile at launch. It means that no group calls through Duo’s web client.
Google Duo Eight-Person Video Calls
Google has introduced a slew of changes to its video calling service, Duo, including the ability to add more members to a video chat. Google Duo now supports adding up to eight people in one group video call. The new feature is available globally on both iOS and Android. Besides that, other new features include data saving mode to help you save data on video calls. In addition, it provides the ability to personalize video messages by adding text, emoji, or doodle.
Although Duo is also the default video chat service for Google’s smart displays. But, if you need to make a video call through a browser, and you have to do it using a Google video calling service,
There’s also a data saving mode for mobile data networks and Wi-Fi on Android in certain markets, including Brazil, India and Indonesia. Google says when it’s active, both you and the person you’re calling will save data. The feature will arrive in more regions in the coming months.
Well, India is the largest market for Google Duo, and the largest portion of the users comes from the smaller parts of the country. The company revealed that nearly 60 percent of all Duo calls made in India include someone outside of the top eight cities.
