So, it seems that London may soon become host to a swimming facility that is as weather-defying as it is death-defying, with plans underway to build the world’s first 360-degree infinity pool high up. This adds another remarkable piece of architecture to its skyline, and this time it’s the rooftop pool that takes center stage.
The Infinity London would put thrill-seeking swimmers 220 m (721 ft) above street level and offer one-of-a-kind panoramic views of the surrounds. It’s a four-sided infinity pool that gives 360-degree views across the city.
World’s First 360-Degree Infinity Pool
Swimmers will feel like they’re floating 650 feet above the sky when they take a dip in this unique pool. While talking about the view and swimming, its gives you an unimaginable experience. So, you can see the English capital and freshness of the cool water. In order to achieve the desired effect of transparency, cast acrylic was selected as the primary material rather than glass. As cast acrylic transmits light at a similar wavelength to water, it allows the pool to appear perfectly clear.
Called Infinity London, the project is described by the swimming pool manufacturer as “only building in the world to incorporate a 360-degree infinity pool”.
The pool is imagined atop a 220-metre-high, 55-storey skyscraper. Containing 600,000 liters of water, it would be surrounded by clear walls made from acrylic. The bottom of the pool would also be transparent, so it could act as a skylight. Besides that, at night it would be lit up with color-changing light. Thanks to the transparent floor, observers below will have a clear view of the swimmers enjoying the pool.
On the other hand, the other included feature is an anemometer to monitor the wind-speed, which would connect to a computer-controlled building management system. This system would keep the pool at the right temperature and mitigate the risks of pool-water slopping into the streets below.
