Amazon launched an all-new Fire tablets comes with a handful of upgrades on its predecessor. Possibly, the most notable of the new features is an improved hands-free experience for its Alexa digital assistant. Amazon’s released several Amazon Fire tablets, and other products, with the words “All New” up front of their title.

Amazon said that it was bringing Alexa hands-free mode to its smaller Fire 7 and Fire HD 8 tablets through a software update. The tablets have the same 7-inch IPS display, and 2MP rear camera, though the front-facing camera is now 2MP.

Amazon Fire Tablets

Amazon announced Fire 7 tablet that has a faster processor than the older version. The new tablets have a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, though Amazon claims it has more memory bandwidth. Besides that, it has more in built storage option. In addition to 16GB, this tablet can work with 512GB microSD cards, doubling what the last-gen model could support. Everything else about it is the same; it’s even keeping the reasonable $49.99 price.

The Fire 7 tablets are also equipped with a portable alternative to one of Amazon’s Echo smart speakers; however, it lacks one core feature of the Fire HD 8. Amazon announced a new show mode for the Fire HD 8 and Fire HD 10, ushering in a full-screen display that allows Alexa to give visual responses in addition to the usual audio answers.

Moreover, it now comes with a new 32GB incarnation ($69.99) in addition to the existing 16GB option, and supports up to 512 GB of storage via a MicroSD card. Three new colors are also available: sage, plum, and twilight blue.

Besides that, the Fire 7 allows access to the company’s exclusive features. Other than the Alexa, they will have ASAP, X-Ray, Second Screen, Amazon FreeTime, Family Library, Blue Shade, On Deck and Prime Video downloads.
