Besides the iPhone, iPad, Mac and other products, Apple is now selling the One Drop blood glucose monitor in some of its U.S. One Drop, device connects to a user’s iPhone to help diabetics monitor their blood sugar with Apple’s Health app. One Drop is the only product for people with diabetes that Apple is currently selling in its brick-and-mortar stores, but it did previously sell the device online.
Its say that if there is an area of health Apple is interested in, it would be diabetes and glucose monitoring. This is because at the moment, measuring glucose levels involves drawing a bit of blood, which some might find uncomfortable doing.
One Drop Blood Kit
Coming to the Apple health, now it includes more tools for diabetics. So, now Apple retail stores have started a diabetes tracking product. You can maintain your glucose level by One Drop’s blood glucose monitor.
While talking about t working, it’s not a continuous monitor as user has to lance it. On the other hand, its Bluetooth connection to your iPhone and Apple Watch helps you track blood sugar levels with the devices you already use every day. One Drop’s kit includes a blood glucose meter that takes readings and an app for the iPhone and the Apple Watch. It gathers data and links it to Apple’s Health ap. It sells for $70 and includes a year’s worth of coaching from a diabetes educator.
Besides that, Apple has increasingly been pushing into the health care space. According to some news, company is working on a glucose monitor for the Apple Watch. And an exclusive rights application published earlier this year suggests the company envisions devices that can “smell” blood sugar. Apple also launched its Heart Study app in 2017, which can identify irregular heart rhythms.
