Google is somewhat prepping for the Nest Hub Max, which uses face detection to show Duo messages and reminders on the home screen when you gaze at the camera. Google has introduced an updated Smart Display interface alongside the Nest Hub Max. At I/O 2019 last week, Google announced a handful of new Smart Display features and the Nest Hub Max. But Google rolling out interface for the new smart display, this new home-screen was first exhibited on the Nest Hub Max.

The new home-screen ditches the all-white Material Design appearance in favor of a more personal carousel of cards that keeps your wallpaper in the background.

Google rolling out new Interface

Google just pushed out an update for the interface that makes more use of the ambient display that’s on while the display is idle, the clock face or wallpaper becomes a blurred background as soon as you start interacting with it.

As per reports, the dedicated weather forecast has been removed as well (leaving just an icon and a temperature reading). And the time and date style has been tweaked and re-positioned. While, the new Google Nest Hub was announced and the Google I/O developer event also revealed that Google had also refined the home-screen on the device. But this is now coming to older devices, too.

Earlier, these updates to the interface on Google’s smart displays comes a couple of weeks after the company demoed a host of improvements to its products at Google IO 2019. As well as introducing the Nest Hub Max, Google also gave a sneak preview of the next-gen Google Assistant. It is there to process information faster, with a smaller footprint on devices, and getting smarter all the time.
