Introducing first updating weather paper poster! Typified

Smart displays for homes are making home better and good looking as well. So is the new weather paper poster Typified. The other weather info type techs are things are not quite like the Weather Poster, from designer Oli Woods and his company, Typified. The project looks to combine traditional art with modern technology to produce a smart display. But it is limited, when it comes to the functionality.

While coming to functional system of Typified, as the weather forecast changes, so will the ink on the paper. The icons take 5-15 minutes to fully activate and will update throughout the day as needed.

He Weather Poster does only one thing: it shows you the upcoming weather forecast for the day. It’s not a particularly detailed forecast. it has just a single icon of whether to expect rain, clouds, or sun at 8AM, 12PM, 4PM, and 8PM for that day.  But the Weather Poster wins out by looking like the sort of thing you might actually want to hang in your home.

Typified is a small team who develop internet connected products alongside a host of collaborators. We aim to release products which don’t ask anything of you to do their job, but help you in your day to day life. These products will be less intrusive ways of expressing the internet and have strong Art and Design influences.

After 18 months of working out, how a paper poster, printed with smart ink could be controlled by a minute internet connected computer. It is the first product which uses this technology is the updating Weather Poster. So the other question is how it will work? The answer is simple; it will use the Wi-Fi for updating the weather info. The poster and connected it to your Wi-Fi, it will never ask for more than a glance from you to do its job. Simply, by hanging it up in your house or office it will naturally catch your eye as you move through your day.
