Recently Samsung has launched its first curved gaming monitor and now LG launches the world’s first IPS gaming monitor. It appears that now the competition rises to next level among the gaming monitor makes. LG launched the gaming offering: two new monitors with a blazing one-millisecond response time. The monitors are part of LG’s Ultra-Gear family and are the first in the world to offer such a fast IPS display.

The Ultra-Gear is available in 27-inch (27GL850) and 38-inch (38GL950G) configurations. While both models feature curved screens with minimal bezels.

LG World’ First IPS Gaming Monitor

Coming to the one-millisecond response time, both boast high refresh rates: 144 Hz for the smaller model and up to 175 Hz for the larger one. They’re also both compatible with Nvidia’s motion-smoothing G-SYNC technology.

The company has introduced two models of gaming monitors with different sizes. The bigger model is curved, wide-angle monitor with 38-inch screen. Technically it has a resolution of 3840 x 1600 and a brightness of 450 nits. On the other hand, the relatively medium sized model has 27-inch display. So, it has less resolution, that is of 2560 x 1440 and a brightness of 350 nits. These specs aside, their main headline is their smooth motion.

Besides that, 38-inch model also has RGB lighting at the back. The gaming monitor has dubbed Sphere Lighting 2.0. not only that, LG is also rolling out gaming-specific features to both monitors in the form of Dynamic Action Sync mode, Black Stabilizer and Crosshair, with the company noting that the features will come in handy in FPS games. Whereas, the 27-inch variant will go on sale initially, with pre-orders set to kick off in the U.S. from July 1 2019.
