DJI’s has announced its two latest Mavic 2 series ultimate search drones. These drones include Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom. Well both have almost same technical features except the difference in the camera. DJI says its imaging hardware can help the M2E “identify and inspect hazardous areas,” making it a good fit for emergency services.
When coming to the aircraft, they have maximum speed of 72 KMH and can travel to 18 km. The Mavic 2 series have flight time from 29 to 31 minutes. They have wind resistance of 29-38 with maximum height of 6000 m from sea level.
The Flying Machine
The Mavic 2 Pro
The flying machine is equipped with the all-new Hasselblad L1D-20c camera. The L1D-20c possesses Hasselblad’s unique Hasselblad Natural Color Solution (HNCS) technology. That enables it to capture gorgeous 20-megapixel aerial shots with complete perfection.
The brand new 1-inch CMOS sensor has an active sensing area four times more effective than the original Mavic Pro. The large sensor also means better performance in low-light environments with a more extensive ISO range, max ISO lifted from 3200 to 12800. With 4K 10-bit HDR support, the Mavic 2 Pro can be plugged into a 4K TV with HLG and will immediately play back footage with the right color tones. The brighter highlights and increased contrast are what make HDR video so appealing.
The Mavic 2 Zoom
With 4K 10-bit HDR support, the Mavic 2 Pro can be plugged into a 4K TV with HLG and will immediately play back footage with the right color tones. The brighter highlights and increased contrast are what make HDR video so appealing. The Mavic 2 Zoom also has a brand new Super Resolution feature. An asset when capturing the brilliant details your landscape photography deserves. When taking a picture with a 24 mm equivalent field-of-view, the camera will capture and patch nine photos with its telephoto lens, resulting in a 48-megapixel super resolution photo.
The Story
The two drones can also be fitted with modular accessories that further boost its search and rescue capabilities. Add-ons include a spotlight with a brightness of 2,400 lumens, a loudspeaker for voice recording playback.
An additional highlight is DJI’s onboard Air-Sense tech: an integrated receiver that alerts drone pilots of ADS-B signals from nearby aircraft through the DJI Pilot mobile app in real-time. Thus, it as an “extra layer of protection” for operators who fly in crowded airspace or near complicated operations. These operation included wildfire suppression, disaster recovery and infrastructure monitoring. So, ultimately, this is a drone for scalability and rapid deployment.
