After so many rumors hit the internet with the specs of new Microsoft Surface Book 2, Microsoft has quietly launched it. This time the software giant has introduced its Intel’s latest 8th Gen quad-core i5 processor for the 13-inch Surface Book 2 model for $1,499. Besides that it kept the existing dual-core 7th Gen model at a discounted price of $1,299.
The other model is with 15-inch screen and it has different specification. The 15-inch Surface Book 2 is arrived with listed with 16GB RAM and Intel Core i7, 8th Gen processor only.

While talking about the technical specification of Microsoft Surface Book 2, user have the option with an Intel Core i5 (8th Gen) processor. The 13.5-inch version of the 2-in-1 convertible previously had two options for shoppers to choose from: the dual-core i5-7300U or the quad-core i7-8650U.
Obviously, there is quite a leap in price difference between the two. There are twp processor options with new New Microsoft Surface Book 2. The i5 is with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD with price of $1,299. On the other hand, processor i7, it is equipped with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD model has price$1,999. Now coming to the battery life, it has improved battery life for whole day. And you can use it for 17 hours without powering it.
Besides all, there is another option Microsoft has provided. For those looking for a compromise somewhere between the entry-level i5-7300U and the powerful i7-8650U, Microsoft has delivered with the i5-8350U. This new processor option has twice the cores of the i5-7300U, which of course affects the performance of the Microsoft Surface Book 2.
Although the two chips compete closely in single-core benchmarks, the quad-core i5-8350U streaks away from its Kaby Lake counterpart in multi-core tests (by 50% in Cinebench R10 Rendering Multiple CPUs 64-bit).
