The world is going for the transportation which is fuel efficient and Eco friendly as well. Besides that the automaker companies are looking for alternative energy resources, so that they should be less depended on the traditional fuel means. Therefore, Dutch company comes up with the new idea of solar power vehicle the Lightyear One. Dutch company Lightyear has come up with a solution and it’s the One. The electric vehicle’s roof is covered in solar panels that span approximately 16 square feet in length.
The Lightyear One is an electric vehicle covered in solar panels that it plans to start delivering to consumers in 2021. Well, the company is founded in 2016 with the idea of producing smart and fuel efficient eclectic cars.

The company comes up with idea of solar powered vehicles, besides that you can charge with traditional charging station as well. So, the clean mobility company introduced its long-range prototype with a range of 725 km (450 miles). The vehicle has a small battery which stores the energy to run you car.
According to the details, the roof and hood of the car are covered with five square meters of solar cells beneath safety glass. While, the company says that it “so strong that a fully-grown adult can walk on them without causing dents.” Besides that it is designed to be very lightweight, making it more power efficient.
So,the less weight allows better range from conventional charging too. Therefore, the car can be charged for up to 400 km in one night from a regular 230V socket. The solar panels add an additional charge of up to 12 km/hour (7.5 miles/hour).
Besides that Lightyear claims these solar cells are 20 percent more efficient than traditional models. Not only is that car equipped with safety glass to protect them from damage as well. Now coming to the price, the fuel efficient car is not cheap one. The company is aiming for 500 cars but the price is a heavy. For Europe its around €119,000, or $135,000, and delivery isn’t expected until 2021.
