Coming to the world of sports car, Pagani debut its Huayra BC Roadster, named again for Pagani’s first and favorite customer Benny Caiola. While it looks just like the Huayra BC coupe with the roof chopped off, it’s actually had a fair bit of work done to justify its $3 million-plus price tag. It is a new variant of its hypercar featuring a removable roof and an updated engine with even more power. Besides the power, company claims that the car is lightweight with 1,250kg, 30kg less than the regular roadster.
While, the sports car is with a structure that incorporates conventional carbon fibre, alongside even rarer and lighter materials. It includes a carbon-titanium mix that is both, lighter and stronger.
Pagani Huayra BC Roadster
It’s the first convertible to be lighter than its coupe version plus the company went through a lot of redesigns in order to adapt the roofless construction. However, if it’s any indication, the jump from the road-legal to the track-focused version of the Huayra is tremendous, especially in terms of the materials used in order to trim down its weight.
On the other hand, in order to make the car light, Aeros and suspension have been reworked. The Aeros are with the goal of developing 500 kg (1,100 lb) of downforce at 174 mph (280 km/h. on the other hand suspension is with electronic active damping. As a result, Pagani says it’ll pull up to 2.2 G of lateral acceleration in the corners, so be sure to sticky-tape your face on.
While, talking about the engine power, the BC Roadster uses a version of the Mercedes-AMG-sourced M158 twin-turbo V12. However, revisions, including newly designed turbochargers, increase power from the 750hp of the last model to 802hp, while the torque peaks at 1,051Nm – the latter available from 2,000rpm to 5,600rpm.
