The Italian Puritalia Berlinetta Super-Hybrid will be displayed at Salon Privé show at Blenheim Palace next month. It seems that Italian super car fever reached Britain, where its maker will announce the appointment of dealerships in the UK and Australia. It appears that for Puritalia, people will be queuing up to buy its limited-edition car. The company says it’ll make 150, all of which will feature a proprietary drivetrain that pairs a front-mounted V8 with an electric motor. The result is, supposedly, 965bhp and 920lb ft.
This car is mixture of conventional Italian craftsmanship with the brand’s own hybrid powertrain, combining a front-mounted V8 combustion engine with an electric motor.
The Puritalia Berlinetta Super-Hybrid
Considering as the supercar or fastest car, it combines power output is 965bhp. It is also supported by a massive 920lb ft of torque. This means the Berlinetta passes both the McLaren P1 (903bhp, 664lb ft) and Ferrari LaFerrari (950bhp, 664lb ft). But it remains little shorter to Porsche 918 Spyder on torque only (875bhp, 944lb ft).
The Berlinetta showcased it first appearance at Geneva earlier this year. And while it might’ve been swamped in a surge of hyper-machinery at the time, it warrants a closer look. Besides there are minimal details about the inside, but chassis features a carbon fiber tub, with aluminum sub-frames.
On the other hand, the engine is a 5-liter, 32-valve, supercharged V8. Blown at a constant 11 PSI of boost and liquid-intercooled. whereas, the Euro 6-compliant combustion engine makes a meaty 750 hp (559 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 878 Nm (648 lb-ft) of torque. And it contributes nice details like the meshed-over hood scoop, and side- and rear-mounted exhaust exits to the look of the car.
While, talking about its second source of power, the monster is equipped with electric powertrain, which nestles in around the transmission in the back. The battery capacity is not that huge, two packs totaling 5.2 kWh. But, it generates enough power to give you 12.4 miles (20 km) of silent, modest, all-electric commuting around town.
