Porsche has added a new Coupe model to the 2020 Cayenne crossover-SUV options. The Cayenne Coupe model features a redesigned profile for a more sedan-like look. Besides that it has an adaptive rear spoiler, and individual rear seating. Porsche is clearly taking on BMW and Mercedes here. The Chairman Oliver Blume calls the new Porsche “more progressive, athletic, and emotional.”
A big active spoiler at the base of the rear window is standard across the entire Coupe range, as is a panoramic sunroof. The Cayenne Coupe seats five with individual bucket seats in both front and an “individual seat” bench in the rear.
Porsche Cayenne 2020!
Coming to Porsche Cayenne 2020, the major option is the choice of roofs. The standard roof will be a large panoramic fixed-glass top with an integrated and retractable sunshade. This can be swapped for an optional carbon fiber rooftop, an option exclusive to the Coupe model. Other options in packages centered on light weighting the Cayenne Coupe include 22-inch GT Design wheels, carbon fiber Alcantara accents inside, and a Sport Exhaust System. More options include Suspension Management as an adaptive suspension upgrade, and a separate 20-inch wheel option.
Porsche designed 8-way adjustable seats with more bolstering to fit the car’s sportier nature. Rear seat passengers sit 1.18 inches lower than in the normal Cayenne to ensure their heads don’t bump into the tapering ceiling.
The Power
The Cayenne Coupe shares its basic structure and mechanical hardware with the regular Cayenne. Two versions of the Coupe will be available at launch: the entry-level model powered by the 335-hp, 332-lb-ft single turbo V-6; and the Cayenne Turbo Coupe, which has a 541-hp, 567-lb-ft variant of Porsche’s versatile 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 under the hood.
Porsche claims the V-6 Coupe will hit 60 mph in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 151 mph, while the Turbo Coupe is good for a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 178 mph.
