Modern engineer Erik Buell is back with the Fuell Flow electric motorcycle. The futuristic approach model has a replaceable and updatable battery, motor and charger. The Fuell Flow was designed in a modular way to make it easy to replace elements. On the other hand, Fuell has gone for a reasonably economical, fun build with its first e-moto, a step away from Buell’s racer roots. It also has a connected dashboard that automatically downloads software updates.
The Flow is an elegant and fun, if not particularly beautiful, solution to urban commuting. The price is different for the different models, US$11,995 for the 35 kW model and $10,995 for the 11 kW versions.
Fuell Flow Electric Motorcycle
The Flow is a 400-lb (180 kg) bike with a great big chunky rear hub motor, a low-slung 10 kilowatt-hour battery box and a neat waterproof, lockable storage space under its fake tank lid that’s big enough to stick a full face helmet in.
Fuell’s electric motorcycle shouldn’t be overlooked either. The electric machine comes in two models: 11 kilowatts and 35 kilowatts. It is designed as an urban commuter, besides that the max speed is around 90 km/h (55 mph) or up to 140 km/h (85 mph) on demand. That means it could theoretically take you on the highway, but is mostly designed for urban applications.
other than that of 35 KW model, the Flow has a city range of 240 km (150 mi) from its 11 kWh battery. That’s on par with many Zero motorcycles, which need even larger batteries to reach such range. With a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of just 2.7 seconds, this is one quick electric commuter. And it charges quickly as well, including Level 3 DC fast charging as standard. It also has some nice tech built into the bike; include ABS brakes, rear view camera, blind spot detection, and an anti-collision system.
