Before going in to details about the engine and its specs, lets have look on the inside and outside. Audi says; open the door to the business class cabin. It has Roll cage, fully connected, removable steering wheel, crash nets, carbon everywhere. It means, absolutely no consideration for the road.
On the other hand, there’s currently no GT2 championship to race it in. So, Audi’s selling them as track day machines, and the company expects a class will open up for it next year. First deliveries are scheduled before the end of this year. And for the price, buyer can pay €338,000, around about US$380,000 for race car.
Talking about other aspects, for the chassis, Audi has twisted the suspension and brake bits and installed new hub carriers. Alongside that the wishbones combined with brake calipers borrowed from the GT3 up front and from the GT4 at the rear. While, the electrical architecture has also been upgraded to allow for 4-level adjustment, with teams able to tweak the ABS, traction control and electronic stability control.
Besides that company has not shown many details. Other than the 5.2 liter engine, there is street-legal R8 V10 Performance. Other than this the glorious ten-cylinder has been dialed to 612 horsepower (456 kilowatts) for the supercar’s mid-cycle update. Thus, Audi has now taken the V10 to a new level by unlocking 630 hp (470 kW).
