Hennessey is habitual for turning fast cars into faster rides and even builds its own hypercar. The tuner is offering an upgrade package for the engine on the 2019 Chevy Corvette ZR1. And the outcome is a massive load of torque and horsepower. On the other hand, Hennessey said that the HPE1200 package does require race gas to get the full 1,200 bhp rating. The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is the definitive Corvette, and now that Chevy is going the mid-engine route.
For the racer, Hennessey also ports the cylinder heads and upgrades valves, springs, and retainers. The lifters and pushrods are upgraded, and long tube stainless steel headers are attached.
Hennessey HPE1200 ZR1 Corvette
The Hennessey neither did nor made lots of changes to interior of the car. The most noticeable changes are regarded with the engine and performance. According to the company, For ZR1 users, who opted for the 8-speed automatic transmission, a transmission upgrade is required. On the other hand, the 7-speed manual needs no upgrade to survive all that power. Once all the parts are installed, Hennessey dyno tunes and road tests the car. Exterior badging is applied as well.
While talking about some changes, the changes made to Hennessey HPE1200 ZR1 Corvette are the camshaft, cylinder heads, throttle body, valve springs and retainers. Other changes include intake and exhaust valves, lifters and pushrods, as well as a ported supercharger.
Besides that, the company equipped the race car with High-flow catalytic converters, stainless steel for the mid-pipes, long-tube headers, and all necessary gaskets are included in the package.
The Power Line
The 1,200-horsepower Corvette ZR1 is part of Hennessey’s HPE1200 package, which also turns up the torque to 1,066 pound-feet from the ZR1’s supercharged 6.2L LT5 V8 engine. HPE1200 is the ultimate package in a three-package offering, as Hennessey also offers somewhat tamer performance with the HPE850 and HPE1000 packs, which raise horsepower to 850 and 1,000, respectively.
Well there are Hennessey’s HPE1200, but Hennessey says the Corvette ZR1 HPE1000 hits 60 mph, , in 2.3 seconds. And on to a quarter-mile run in 9.4 seconds at 147 mph. Top speed is a claimed 230-plus mph. on the other hand, it says the for HPE1200, the extra power will perform lot more that this car.
