Well, the earlier version of Mercedes-AMG 4 door is good looking car but the company is adding more power to it. Mercedes-AMG GT 73 plug-in hybrid is launched and unleashed 805 hp. GT 4-Door will get a plug-in hybrid powertrain anchored by a twin-turbocharged V8 for the ultimate power. According to the reports by car magazine, the new car will be named “GT 73 4MATIC,” which also depicts the use of all-wheel drive. On the other hand, the “73” number itself also pays tribute to some of AMG’s earliest models.
The GT 4-Door Coupe in the 63 S guises is already the most powerful Mercedes production model outside of the Project One. But this new hybrid car is more powerful as well.

The reports revealed that the 4 door car has a complex electrical system. This is there because of electrified powertrain nature. The photographers who took the images also claim the test mule drove away silently on electric power. The ’73’ branding has only ever been reserved for a select few of AMG’s most powerful models throughout history.
Coming to the power of the car, the AMG’s uses twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine with an electric motor on the front axle. Well, this gives a combined system output which Moers claims is “up to 600kW” or 805bhp. That compares strongly to the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, which makes do with 671bhp.
Regardless of a considerable increase in weight that goes along with the hybrid system, the GT 73 should be capable of breaking the three-second barrier in a 0-62mph sprint. The GT 63 S manages the same sprint in 3.2sec. Yet it’s not all about fast launches; the system will also allow an all-electric range of up to 31 miles and, as a result, far greater claimed economy than any other GT 4-door Coupé.
