German automaker BMW introduces a new sixth- Gen 3 series touring mid size SUV for the Europeans. As a mid-sized car, it’s far smaller than the huge land yacht, yet this new generation is larger than the previous version. Besides that, it adds more features in order to gain more interior usability. The classy and updated character of the new BMW 3 Series Touring is underscored by the extensively refined premium ambience of its interior. BMW 3 Series Touring
It’s been more than 3 decades after BMW released its first ever 3 Series Touring. The company has just unveiled the all-new sixth generation model, in an effort to combine the driving dynamics of the G20 3 Series with a whole lot of practicality and convenience.
Now coming the difference between the new one and earlier models, the 3 Series Touring is a larger car than its predecessor. When talking about its length, it is 76 mm longer and 16 mm wider with 8 mm taller. Else, the rear windscreen is also 20 mm wider, while the wheelbase is also 41 mm longer. Not only that the main standard features include full LED headlights and taillights, roof rails, and twin-pipe exhausts.
On the exterior side, the new BMW 3 Series Sedan has large BMW kidney grille. It is slim twin headlights and an elaborately jutting front apron, emphasize the car’s powerful stance. On the other hand, the most of the technologies and amenities offered in sedan in different from previous models. The new has model has interior ambient lighting modes, and three trim levels of model advancement. It includes SE, Sport, M Sport along with LED lighting, variable steering ratios, and driver’s assistance tech. But, the UK version will get a special M Sport Plus Edition as well.
The Power & Engine Options
The distinct feature of new BMW 3 series touring offers several powertrain options. The base 320i model will utilize a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that outputs 184 hp (137 kW) mated to an eight-speed automatic in front-wheel drive. Whereas, the M340i series equipped with new six-cylinder turbocharged engine for 374 hp (279 kW). The sedan also has standard with all-wheel drive (“xDrive”).
Now the Diesel options, this version will have four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission with an automatic transmission upgrade available. The 318d outputs 150 hp (112 kW) and the 320d, which is available with xDrive, creates 190 hp (141 kW).
Coming to the electric and hybrid model, the new plug-in hybrid variant will be available as the 330e Touring, mid-year in 2020. This will combine a four-cylinder gasoline engine with PHEV components for 292 hp (218 kW) of total output. The electric motor is designed to continuously offer 68 hp (50 kW) and peak with 109 hp (80 kW) in short bursts. Besides being electric, it hits the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) speed mark in 6.0 seconds.
