The 2020 Mercedes Benz GLE is the all-new replacement for the outgoing GLE and the newest successor of the popular M-Class line. Let’s start about the new GLE; it’s unbelievably comfortable, practically fast, and attractive. Mercedes had to do a good job, because the mid-size luxury SUV segment is a must-win contest with competitive competition.

The new fourth-gen Mercedes Benz GLE will be unveiled at the Paris auto show next month. After that it will be available for dealerships in the United States next year. Well this Benz SUV is the most inclusive update since the M-class first debuted some over 20 years ago.

The Design

The new 2020 Mercedes GLE is longer and wider than its forerunner, and rides on a longer wheelbase, too. It’s more of a nip-tuck than a redesign. The most prominent changes are the reshaped front fascia, with big grille and swept-back LED headlights. It also has bit more sloped rear window and the somewhat “haggard” look to the lift-gate. It’s a rather fine-looking SUV. It has further wheel range option like ranging from 19 to 22 inches in diameter and silly touches like illuminated running boards.

The interior of this luxury SUV is flawlessly assembled; with everything you could conceivably touch feeling delightful. The leather is plush, the controls operate with a satisfying click-click and the various optional wood veneers all look wonderful. While second row has plenty of space, and easily can b folded for more extra space.

The Power

This new Mercedes Benz GLE has power of different ranges of four-, six-, and eight-cylinder engines. This new SUV will be launched as GLE350 and GLE450 4Matic. While The GLE350 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four making 255 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, The GLE450 has a turbocharged inline-six enhanced by a 48-volt starter/generator system; engine output is 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft, while the electric motor adds 21 horses. Mercedes claimed that the GLE350 will hit 60 mph in 7.0 seconds and 4Matic will in 7.1. After these models, there will be two AMG models: the GLE53 will get a more powerful version of the inline-six with an electric supercharger, while the GLE63 will be powered by the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 seen in other AMG models. There’s also another plug-in hybrid in the cards.
