The new McLaren 720S Spider is attached as the most accomplished convertible supercar McLaren has ever produced. It’s said to combine the thrill of open-air driving with unparalleled Super Series dynamic performance and superiority. Well according to the McLaren, ‘The 720S Spider is a full-throttle supercar with a retractable roof, all in one beautifully honed package.’

As it’s the case with the coupe, McLaren will sell its new convertible 720S, Performance, and Luxury flavors. A total of 23 colors are available, including this lovely new Belize Blue, plus a fresh Aztec Gold, and a Supernova Silver shade as a nod to the original 12C.

The design

Similar to McLarens models, the new McLaren 720S has a carbon fibre structure being the Monocage II-S, used for its power, inflexibility and light weight.  In order to provide, enhanced rollover protection, there are fixed carbon fibre structural supports integrated into the rear. Coming to the interior, the cabin gives the finest materials and the perception of space. The centrally-mounted 8.0-inch high-resolution Central Infotainment Screen. Then there is an interface displays audio, media, navigation, climate control and other convenience features.

The Exterior

The 720S Spider features a 360-degree canopy allowing light to flood into the cabin setting a new benchmark for visibility. On the other hand, most valued feature outside is it ‘The Retractable Hard Top’ and its folding mechanism. They are totally electrically rather than hydraulically driven, and the system is the fastest-operating convertible roof in just 11 seconds. Maximum vehicle speed during operation is 50km/h a major increase from the 30km/h of the 650S. The new hard top is twice as quiet in operation as the first-generation Super Series.

The Power

While talking about the engine McLaren 720s has a remarkable 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged McLaren V8 engine. The 720S Spider hit the 0-100km/h in just 2.9 seconds, and 0-200km/h is achieved in just 7.9 seconds. It also has a top speed with 341km/h with the roof raised and 325km/h when the roof is off. On the other hand, with 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque, this channeled to those 20-inch rear wheels. The spider has three selectable modes of driving, the Comfort, Sport, and Track. McLaren’s Proactive Chassis Control II hydraulic suspension is complemented by an electro-hydraulic steering system provides pure precision and feedback.
