If you are looking for a next-gen laptop with amazing style and features, Asus has something to offer. The ZenBook Flip S is a great premium convertible laptop, with an active 11th-gen Intel processor and a superb 4K OLED screen. It’s a great innovation as one of the first Intel Evo devices. Apart from that, there are some shortcomings too. This model comes with slightly thicker bezels than the rival(s), and a major lacking that may disappoint you is the lack of a headphone jack. Keep reading to know more about Asus Zenbook Flip S.
The Asus ZenBook Flip S features a smooth and flat convertible design; a stunning 4K OLED screen; and some adequate power, thanks to Intel’s Xe integrated graphics. It has almost everything users need in a next-generation laptop.
Asus Zenbook Flip S
The standout feature of the ZenBook Flip S’s 13.3-inch 4K OLED screen, which makes just about everything, looks wonderful. Perhaps ASUS was in a race to get this machine out before other PC makers. Maybe that’s the reason why there’s only one configuration available: a Core i7-1165G7 Tiger Lake CPU with Intel Xe graphics, 16GB of RAM, and 1 TB NVMe SSD.
With its Xe graphics, the Flip S scored four times more powerful than the XPS 13 in the Geekbench Compute analysis, which includes OpenCL execution for workloads like video rendering.
The keyboard layer is made from Jade Black aluminum but has a matte coating. The copper-lined edges add some bling that finishes toward the top of the layer, bestowing off the set of 360-degree hinges.
With such a sleek case, the Flip doesn’t have plenty of space for ports but Asus made it operate well. On the right, you have a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port and the power button.
On the left, you’ll get a competent HDMI 1.4 port and two Thunderbolt 4 ports, making the Flip one of the first laptops to use the new connectivity standard.
For such a slick laptop, the Flip has a large touchpad. Covering 5.1 x 2.6 inches, the glass panel pulls double duty as a touchpad, seamlessly working multitouch Windows 10 gestures, such as pinch-zoom, two-finger scroll, and three-finger tap.
Along with the excellent modern processor, Intel also launched a new integrated graphics chip: Iris Xe. With this innovative component, Intel is encouraging gamers can enjoy more games at 1080p by increasing the performance of the earlier generation chip. Modern processors typically indicate more reliable battery life. Nevertheless, a 4K OLED panel is never the design to showcase that newfound advantage. The Asus ZenBook Flip S endured 8 hours and 7 minutes on our battery test.
The ZenBook Flip S’ 720p camera is one of the best laptop cameras we have ever used. Thanks to the innovative ultrathin camera module with its four-element lens as well as Asus’ camera algorithm, which produces more explicit images and automatically adjusts the exposure and color scale so your selfies always look great.
Asus ZenBook Flip S is priced at $1,449 and has a 2.8-GHz Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor with 16GB of RAM, a 1TB M.2 PCI 3.0 SSD, Intel Iris Xe Graphics, and a 13.3-inch 3840 x 2160-pixel OLED touch panel.
